Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW) (UK)
Eating Disorders Awareness Week, taking place from 4th - 10th February 2007, is a nationwide, annual event in the UK.
Various activities will take place with the aim of raising awareness of eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating disorder and other related eating disorders.
Beat (the brand new identity and working name of the national charity Eating Disorders Association (EDA)) is an organisation campaigning for more help and support for people with eating disorders.
The EDA is launching its new identity at the House of Commons on Monday 5th February, along with a new report called 'Something's Got to Change'.
In the report Beat reveals that a whopping 92% of young people with eating disorders feel they have no one to turn to for help. This highlights the problem of isolation from society people with these illnesses face.
By taking positive action to get the message across that there is help available for eating disorders, Beat is determined that eating disorders will be beaten.
